Worship

In our worship of God, what does God expect of us?

God expects us to give Him the best.

1) Ezra 6:15-16
"...celebrated the dedication of the house of God with joy."
-Worship the lord with JOY

2) Malachi 1:6-10
"...Oh, that one of you would shut the temple doors, so that you would not light useless fires on my altar! I am not pleased with you," says the LORD Almighty"

3) Exodus 12:3-6
-What we offer to God must be the best! Just like the choosing of the passover lamb, which is to be without defects.

4)Romans 12:1
"...offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship."

Keep your bodies holy, as they are to be offered to God as living sacrifices.

1) Matthew 28:18-20a
"...and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you"

2) Genesis 17:10-14
"...you are to undergo circumcision, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and you... any uncircumcised male, who has not been circumcised in the flesh, will be cut off from his people; he has broken the covenant."

3) Colossians 2:11
"... but with the circumcision done by Christ"
- circumcision = putting/cutting off our sinful nature

4) Colossians 2:12
- the 'new' circumcision is to be baptised by the Lord Jesus Christ

5) Ephesians 4:22
"... to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires"

6) Romans 13:14

7) John 3:3
"... I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again"

8) Galatians 5:16
"...live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature"

9) Galatians 5:19-21
"... that those who lives like this will not inherit the kingdom of God"
- the examples of sinful nature (envy, drunk...)

When we come before our Lord Jesus, we will hear one of these 3 responses

[1] I never knew you *
-matthew 7:22-23
"...I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!"

[2] You just made it through the flames **
- 1 Corinthians 3:12
"...builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw..."

[3] You are great in the Kingdom of God ***
- Matthew 5:19

"...the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom and to shun evil is understanding"

"the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. For through me, your days will be many, and years will be added to your life"

"...ask for whatever you want me to give you"
- ask for WISDOM, not wealth, fame, as God, in return, will give us His knowledge and wisdom

Holy Communion

1) Exodus 12:3, 6-7, 11-12
"Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month, each man is to take a lamb for his household..."
-the Lamb is the Lord's Passover

2) Exodus 12:13
"The blood will be a sign for you on the house where you are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you."
-when the Holy Spirit came down to Israel

3) Exodus 12:25-27
"...It is the Passover sacrifice to the Lord, who passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt and spared our homes when he struck down the Egyptians..."

4) John 1:29

5) 1 Corinthians 5:7b
"For Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed."
-the Israelites were not slaves to Pharoh, but slaves to Satan (including us, now)

SLAVES - bondage, hopelessness
PASSOVER LAMB
SONS - freedom, hope

6) 1 Corinthians 11:23
"...This is my body, which is for you; do this in rememberance of me."
- when we eat the bread during Holy Communion

When we take up the bread, what does Jesus want us to remember about Him?
[1] He is the complete, perfect, sinless Lamb of God
- Exodus 12:5a
"The animals you choose must be year-old males without defect..."
- Exodus 12:46b
"Do not break any of the bones."
- John 19:31-33
they did not break off Jesus' legs --- the perfect body of God
- 1 Corinthians 5:8b
"... but with bread without yeast, the bread of sincerity and truth."

[2] He is the way back to God
- Matthew 27:51a
"at that moment the curtain of the temple was torn into two from top to bottom."
- Hebrews 10:19-20
- John 14:6
"...I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

[3] We are the Body of Christ

Dear All,

Some of you may have received the sms via your leader by now in regards to our dear sis Serene. Please continue to uphold her in your prayer.

Pray for God's healing power is released on her and the swelling on the last operated wound is gone in the mighty Name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Any form of the work of the darkness will not prosper and is rendered powerless in the mighty Name of our Lord Jesus Christ as Serene takes her refuge in our Lord Jesus Christ.

If you make the Most High your dwelling—
even the LORD, who is my refuge-
then no harm will befall you,
no disaster will come near your tent. (Psalm 91:9-10)

Pray for God's peace that surpasses all understanding will reign in her heart and she's able to rest well. God will grant extra strength to her parents as they take care of her. God's wisdom is upon her former surgeon that she may have to visit.

The LORD is faithful to all His promises and loving toward all He has made. (Psalm 145:13)

Let's join our hearts together in interceding for Serene.

1) Matthew 4:23-25 (Jesus heals the sick)
-Jesus healed all who were ill

2) Luke 4:18

3) "By His Word we are healed"
-Gives us the faith to believe

4)Matthew 9:20
-If we have faith, there is healing in His Name. Just like the woman who had been subjected to bleeding for twelve years.

-Heaven and earth (our words, things that we do) will change, but God's truth will remain forever.
-God's annointing is transferable. (If we believe, His annointing will come upon us =D)
-When we pray, things would turn for the better

Dear all,

Please note that there will be NO english service this wk on the 9th Aug due to National Day celebration. Instead, the services will be combined at 5pm. Our weekly Youth Meeting is also cancelled.

Please also keep in mind to continually pray for brother Christopher, who has stage 4 lung cancer. Have faith and press on, and he'll be healed at, if not faster, then at an equal rate as how we've seen brother Alvin healed. =) There's healing in the Name of Jesus.

Holy Communion

Who instituted the Holy Communion?
Jesus Christ

1) Matthew 26:26-28
"...this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins."

When we believe in Jesus Christ, two things happen in the spiritual realm
1) The blood of Jesus Christ cleanse us of our sins
2) We enter into a covenant with God through the Blood of Jesus Christ

2) 1 Timothy 2:5
"For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Jesus Christ"

GOD
MEDIATOR - the blood of Jesus Christ
MEN

3) Exodus 19:3b-5, 8
- The Israelites (men) must obey the Word of God fully; while God will protect and cover the Israelites.

4) Exodus 24:3-8

5) 1 Peter 2:9
"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God..."

6) Matthew 28:18-20
- make disciples of the nations and baptise them, teaching them all that God has commanded

7) 1 Corinthians 11:27-28
- after we confess our sins and repent, then we can drink the Holy Communion (we need not be perfect(with no sin) before we can drink the Holy Communion)

* JESUS CHRIST DID NOT INSTITUTE THE HOLY COMMUNION TO CONDEMN US OF OUR SINS. INSTEAD, JESUS CHRIST INSTITUTED THE HOLY COMMUNION AS A PLACE FOR US TO RECEIVE FORGIVENESS, LOVE, MERCY AND THE GRACE OF GOD. (matthew 26:28)
